Just chatting
Today I publish my last summer project - a game controlled via Twitch chat. When I was streaming, just wanted to talk but had nothing to show a viewer suggested some kind of "screen saver game" where the viewers could do something via chat while the streamer was talking away.
Still under the impression of the excellent King of the Castle I thought, this shouldn't be so complicated, right? And indeed, connecting Unity to a Twitch chat proved to be quite simple so I took the idea of Placid Plastic Duck Simulator as a starting point for a setting and made the ducks interactive, added two simple games the streamer could start (both with some kind of endless mode, too) and asked a fellow streamer if he wanted to test the game. That was yesterday (thanks Draviuz!) so now I have both the confidence and a video to show my game to the public.
So if you are a streamer, simply download the game (see install instructions how to connect to Twitch) and let me know what you think! I would love to add more clips and videos of people playing the game.
If there is more interest in the game I will find the motivation to add more game modes and of course the needed quality of life stuff. Till then have fun!
Thanks,
Fjo
